Back in the swing of things …
As the summer winds down and school is gearing back up, regardless of whether you have kids in school or not, things seem to return to a normal state. Meetings and functions that occur regularly begin to take place again and we all fall back into our routines. That being said, we have a great month of activities for you at the Sumter Digital Camera Club.
AUG. MTG PREVIEW
We have another great meeting planned for you this month. SDCC member Jim Langlois will be presenting “What is photography” at our regular monthly meeting on Aug. 12 at 7pm.
UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY
You need to make this meeting — and call your buddy that is a member too and make sure they are coming — because we have a unique opportunity that we’ll be presenting information about. We’ll need your approval and feedback to launch this one of kind experience for our club members, we’re so excited and can’t wait to share! =)
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!
Aug. 14 — Club work day, first thing in the morning, we’ll share more about this at the meeting
Aug. 21 — Club photo shoot [Look for another email this week just about this event]
Mtg 2mrw night!
Posted by admin in Meeting details on June 9th, 2010
Yes Virginia, there will be a meeting tomorrow night!
I hope you’ll join us for our monthly meeting tomorrow night, Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m. in the community meeting room at Sumter Mall.
I apologize for not getting an email out sooner. Our scheduled speaker, a photographer from out of town, was supposed to share about Macro photography. However she had a family emergency and isn’t going to make it, that takes us to a backup plan which I’m still ironing out.
It’s been a week: last night my projector crapped out on me while I was sharing at the Lake Marion Digital Camera Club in Manning. Not bad for a projector someone gave us, said it was broke, but it worked like a charm for a year and half/two years. However, thanks for Paul Wilkinson, he SAVED THE DAY and is bringing his projector to the meeting tomorrow night. Plus I unknowingly got into some poison ivy last week, it just showed up this weekend and doesn’t look/feel too good at the moment, got a doctor’s appt in just a few. I don’t wish that stuff on anybody!
Don’t forget your POM (Picture of the Month) and AOM (Assignment of the Month). This month’s topic was: ACTION
Thanks for your patience, understanding and I look forward to seeing everyone that can make it tomorrow night.
Chris

-
-
- Using your on camera’s pop-up flash. Also some tips on how to adjust/tweak the flash along with an accessory that he finds helpful

WOW! I can’t think of any better way to celebrate your b-day/anniversary than with a group of your closest friends, a great presentation (speaker), good eatin’ and fellowship. For those of you that missed last night’s meeting, you missed a good one. A near record — if not new record — of 46 people were in attendance.
I promised and I’m delivering, here is a link to your photography terms (pdf) that I mentioned. Download, print, read and reread ‘em.
Happy shooting!
Chris
