Want to learn to better use your flash?

Have you been struggling with your flash photography? Not getting the results you’d like? Want to learn to take better pictures of your family and friends using flash?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, then you don’t want to miss this month’s meeting of the Sumter Digital Camera Club! The monthly meeting is Thursday, May 13, at 7 p.m. in the community meeting room at Sumter Mall.

Chris Moore will lead our discussion on using flash. He will be demonstrating different techniques using a model and by tethering his camera to a computer and projecting his results for everyone to view and discuss. Here is a list of ideas that Chris and his helpers plan to share/discuss:

      • Using your on camera’s pop-up flash. Also some tips on how to adjust/tweak the flash along with an accessory that he finds helpful
      • Adding a speed-light/add-on flash. Various techniques including bouncing, diffusing, etc.

News from our friend Richard Bernabe

I got this from our friend Richard Bernabe and thought I’d pass it along …
Have a great weekend,
Chris

All of my winter trips and photography is over and now I have my sights set on spring once again. I thank you all so much for all of the e-mails during the past few weeks, asking about the Belize trip (it was great) and upcoming workshops, classes and tours.

I forgot to mention the article I wrote in Digital Photo Magazine (it was the February Issue) on “Creative Landscapes.” Those who wrote in to say how much they enjoyed it – THANK YOU.

I just wanted to pass along a few reminders before spring is upon us for real.

Grandfather Mountain Nature Photography Weekend, June 4 – 6, 2010

Just a quick reminder that tickets for this event go on sale at Midnight, April 1. It will probably be sold out by 9:00 am and that’s no exaggeration – so if you plan on attending, call early and often on April 1. For more information, follow this link:

I promised and I’m delivering, here is a link to your photography terms (pdf) that I mentioned. Download, print, read and reread ‘em.
